A stronger sense of community
Keep bringing neighbors together, so more of us know each other by name and feel part of something we're proud of.
Fall 2026 Board of Directors Election
I'm Mindy Flinn, a Grande Vista neighbor running for the Campanas Residential Community board. I'd be honored to bring fresh eyes, a steady hand and real respect for what makes Campanas home.
Meet Mindy
"I won't pretend to know all of our history. That's exactly why I'd start by listening."
My husband Chip and I moved to San Antonio from Connecticut at the end of February to be closer to our family. We've truly enjoyed making San Antonio our new home, and I'm grateful to be part of this community.
For more than 28 years, I've worked in nonprofit leadership and fundraising, mostly in healthcare and academic medicine. My work has centered on building trust-based relationships, bringing people together around shared goals, managing complex projects, and working with executives, boards, volunteers and community leaders.
Today I'm an Executive Advisor for Transformational Gifts at ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
What I'd focus on
Keep bringing neighbors together, so more of us know each other by name and feel part of something we're proud of.
Neighbors see these issues differently, and that's okay. I'd start with the facts, listen to residents' concerns and work toward solutions that reflect our priorities.
Clear updates on what was decided and why, and more chances for residents to be heard before decisions are made. That's how trust grows.
My commitments
I can't promise specific outcomes before I've studied the budget, contracts and governing documents. I can promise how I'll serve.
What I heard
I was raised to remember that we have two ears and one mouth, and to use them in that proportion. At the candidate introductions on October 20, I listened. Some neighbors were frustrated and some were angry, but the themes were consistent: how the board communicates, how bids are awarded, and whether our money is spent consistently and fairly.
I can't speak to decisions made before I arrived, and I won't assume anyone's motives. What I can do is show you, in writing, how I would work: clear communication, open bidding, and the same rules for every vendor and every neighbor, with nothing decided out of view. Everything below is a draft. I'd like your input before anything is final.
A word about these drafts: I know they're dense. I heard clearly that you want visibility and transparency, so I chose to show the full detail rather than a summary. If you're short on time, start with the one-page flowchart or the operating calendar.
All five documents are drafts. These are just my thoughts as a candidate. They must be reconciled with the bylaws, rules and regulations of the board. — Mindy
None of this is current HOA policy. The purchasing, prioritization and calendar practices would take effect only if the board adopts them, and our governing documents and Texas law would control where they are stricter.
Questions welcome
Wondering where I stand on something, or want me to look into an issue you care about? Send me a note. I read every message myself and will reply personally.
A short form opens right here. Your question goes straight to Mindy.
Fall 2026 election
There are more good candidates than seats this year, and I'm grateful so many neighbors care enough to serve. Please watch for the official ballot and voting instructions from the HOA and its management company, and vote for the candidates you trust. If that includes me, thank you.
